We are happy to announce that the 5^th International Workshop on Information Processing in Cells and Tissues (IPCAT 2003) will take place in Lausanne on September 8-11, 2003 (for additional information, please consult the website http://lslwww.epfl.ch/ipcat2003). You are cordially invited to participate and will find in annex the first call for papers for the conference.

In addition, our laboratory has been invited to present a prototype of the BioWall, a bio-inspired computing tissue capable of self-repair, from September 18 to October 20, 2002, in Paris. The machine will be on display as part of the International Festival "@rt Outsiders", organized by the Maison européenne de la photographie and dedicated to artificial life (for more details, please access the website http://www.art-outsiders.com).
